Twycross Zoo produces a large amount of omnivorous, carnivorous and herbiverous animal faeces mixed with various bedding materials (sawdust, shavings, straw, etc). The omnivorous and carnivorous faeces are particulalry difficult due to the need to ensure a high level of pathogen control. The proper disposal of this material was previously costing the Zoo a considerable amount to dispose of. HotRot provided a fully integrated shredding, feed and composting system to compost all of the organic wastes produced onsite and convert it into a finished compost.
The client has been extremely happy with the result (click here for the client's testimonial). Not only has the project added considerably to the owner's considerable green credentials but it has saved over £40,000 each year in alternative disposal costs. |
