Composting Facility Services(CFS) Ltd.  Sewage Grit Screenings Treatment at Kingsnorth, Hoo St. Werburgh, Kent

HotRot has supplied 2 in no. 3518 HotRot IVC units to MTS Cleansing facilities for the treatment of sewage grit screenings (up to 50,000 tpa) at a new facility in Kingsnorth, Kent.  Previously the sewage grit and screenings were sent to landfill, whereas now, the resultant compost can be used for land restoration and remediation.

The sewage grit and screenings are sourced directly from sewage works or sewage treatment plants and mixed with wood chip/green waste to allow aeration and adequate moisture levels before being placed in a hopper which feeds the 3518 HotRot IVC units.

MTS has set up a sister company, Composting Facility Services (CFS) to run this facility and together with HotRot, 2011 has been very important towards optimising the plant’s performance.
